Cigars

As the fall air is upon us it's time to start thinking of those long walks with a good cigar. I personally love a good cigar; heck I even get a few Cubans once in a while (although not a many as I wish). I have a few H. Upmann's left in my humidor and they are just ok. A tough draw and too mild. I have enjoyed a few Partagas last month and even my last Cohiba (Sligo VI), boy do I wish I could get more of them. I know some people are grossed out by cigar smoke, however it is a nice relaxation for me to take a long walk with a good smoke. Sometimes it is the only escape I can find.

I remember a few years ago with the big cigar "boom" it seemed everyone was smoking. That was good to get people to try different cigars because their favorites usually were sold out. Today, it is a bit back to "normal" and one can find a lot of variety at the local cigar store (if you are luck enough to have a cigar store near you). So, if you are the golf course or just walking around town or sitting on your back deck, take a nice cigar and relax and enjoy it. Having a nice cigar makes you slow down in this fast paced world and actually enjoy the moment, surely we all deserve a little down time from the rat race...

Hey Tod,

Not sure if you are into buying cigars on-line ( I know it's not the same as browsing through a good cigar shop ), but my Hubby buys a lot of his cigars through JR Cigar. We used to own a smoke shop (when we lived in PA). Hubby wanted to make it strictly cigars, however, when the cigar trend started to fade, it was the faithful cigarette smokers that kept the store alive. Since we moved back to MA, we don't have too many cigar shops around & it seems that the only one in the area has very high prices!

Enjoy your 'gars ....

thanks Kris: I love JR Cigar, but sometimes I miss the feeling on a walk in Humidor.

My work pal and I love to grab a cigar at CigarMasters or similar places. Nice to have decent service, a good cigar and a nice glass of wine before hitting the train ride back to the 'burbs.

Hi All !
The cigarBQ 2007 website will be updated and running by week's end.
One major notice is the event will be happening June 7 - 9th.
Also, please go to www.cigarBQ.com today.
There is a petition I need you to sign to repeal a smoking ordinance in Santa Rosa.
You do not need to live in Santa Rosa to sign. I want to show the City Council how
it will affect the travel industry in Sonoma County.
Thanks for your support.
Cheers!
Hans

Next time you are in Denver (say, on the way to Aspen? ;) stop by the Cigar store on Detroit St/2nd avenue - huge and amazing selection.

I managed to obtain some pre-embargo Cubans while down in Charleston...I know they aren't the best in Cubans...but are they ok?

I bought them as a gift.

Pinars???

Circe: I have not had those cigars. However, I found some interesting comments on a cigar Q&A forum : http://forums.cigaraficionado.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3306086/m/312105283

No matter if they are pre-embargo or current Cubans or even a Dominican. As long as YOU like it. Nothing is worse than somone "trying" to be a cigar snob...you know the type "Cigar? No thanks I ONLY smoke hand rolled Cuban's from the southern part of the island; of course only the ones that are rolled at night too."

Just light 'em up and enjoy...
