Flip Flop Flap

So it seems it's on every preppy guys (and girls) list of favorite footwear, and flip flops exemplify what laidback really is...I have to admit I am a new convert to the Flip Flop.
I've always enjoyed my docksiders and even barefoot at the beach, however the only guys that I saw wearing anything like a flip flop was either the "air Jesus" sandal's or some gross Nike shoe. My wife always wore Eliza B's and she loved them; one day she noticed the Vineyard Vines flip flops for men and thought she try to convert me.
It worked! Although they are still a little funny sometimes (they make it hard to shift while driving too), I cannot feel stressed out when you slip on a pair...Even Muffy has converted. She swears they are more comfortable than her Eliza B.'s...I'm sure a shock to a few Muffies out there.

Hi Tod!

Great blog - found you via The Preppy Cafe! I am still trying to convert my conservative man into wearing flip flops - I am almost there :) I think it is easier here in New England (he's from PA) because there are a lot of preppy guys, who do sport the flip flop, so, he won't look "strange". Wish me luck!

Cheers & stay cool :)

In my beloved Colorado we have a locally made shoe that is all the rage for summer & boat wear... The Croc

I love the flip flop.

Kudos on getting the men involved!

VV flip flops actually DO have support...That is why my wife loves them now...

Yes, those Crocs! In our town they are everywhere, even a kid in my child's preschool class...

I have many different types of flip flops (reefs, eliza B, rainbows, jcrew, etc..addicted maybe?) and my VVs are by far the most comfortable, so you should definitely give them a shot, well worth the money!
has anyone had havaianas? I just bought a pair, hoping they are as good as people claim.
i'm also working on converting my boat & golf shoe wearing boyfriend to flip flops...a hard task. i think i have to spring for the VVs for him.
at my summer camp we have 4 and 5 year olds wearing crocs, they seem to be able to run in them. With the 100 degree weather, no socks is a good thing. if they are comfortable enough I would be willing to wear the closed toed ones for nursing...maybe.

The crocs are great for support. My best friend wears them standing all day in the OR.
I've had several knee surgeries and that's what made me try them.
